About
About me? Well, I’m in my 30’s now, married (love it!), have two Golden Retriever’s (love them!), I’m building an airplane (RV-7), and of course, I’m a pilot. Is that enough? Okay, I’ve been enamoured with all things flying (except helicopters…that’s another story) since I was probably two years old. My dad used to take me to the airport as a child to watch airplanes take off and land, and from that point on, it stuck (and I take him flying every chance I get now!). My first airplane ride was probably around 3 or 4, and I do remember it. One of my parent’s friends owned a Piper Seneca, and took us for a ride one evening. That sealed the deal! It took me a LONG time to take my first lesson, but I finally decided one day that if I was going to do it, I’d better get going on it. That was 1999. As a private pilot in 2000, I flew for fun, and bought in to a 1974 Piper Cherokee 140. I started on my instrument training in that airplane. We soon after sold it to buy a 1968 Piper Cherokee 180D. I finished my instrument training in that airplane in June 2003, then went on to the commercial in October 2003, and a Multi engine rating in January 2004. I took a break from ratings until I started CFI training in 2005. I still don’t have that rating now in 2008, but I did take the test to be a certified ground instructor in January 2005. That last rating/endorsement I have collected was the tailwheel endorsement that was received in May 2007. I’m Part 135 SIC qualified on the King Air 200, and have flown a few trips in our company Lear 35A. I have flown 44 types of airplanes as of February 2008, and enjoy every new airplane as though it was my first time flying!
So, that ’s a general overview about my flying. My company has sold the King Air 200 I was flying, so my professional flying has been suspended for the time being. I am currently brokering aircraft for my company, and I really enjoy it…when there’s something to do…
Hope to fly soon!
